Superior Bowen Acquired by Legacy Infrastructure Group
Superior Bowen (SB) has shaped Kansas City for decades — in 2022, it entered another new chapter. That year marked the acquisition of Superior Bowen by Legacy Infrastructure Group (LIG).
What Is Legacy Infrastructure Group?
Legacy Infrastructure Group was founded by Superior Bowen’s leadership team with one goal: to spread SB’s core values and ideals to more businesses, ultimately building a successful portfolio. Trey Bowen, CEO of both Legacy Infrastructure Group and Superior Bowen, envisions the companies building upon one another’s strengths to grow their combined potential.
LIG’s structure honors the legacies of the men and women who have built the companies within the portfolio. “We seek to acquire likeminded businesses with a careful focus on honoring their independence and success through flexible terms,” Trey Bowen explained in a press release announcing the acquisition. “Our model encourages the shareholders of businesses we acquire to reinvest into the overall Legacy portfolio.” This framework presents a unique opportunity to leaders: the chance to reinvest in a more diverse business within the construction industry.
Which Companies Make Up Legacy Infrastructure Group?
Superior Bowen is Legacy Infrastructure Group’s flagship operating company. Its acquisition was announced concurrently with that of Oklahoma City-based Haskell Lemon: an award-winning road construction and asphalt production company. LIG holdings also include J&R Constructors Group — a third-generation road construction materials and services provider headquartered in Liberal, Kansas — and Construction Materials Testing Group (CMTG) — a highly specialized lab testing facility located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Today, Superior Bowen, Haskell Lemon, and J&R Constructors Group work together to build lasting legacies. Learn more by contacting the Superior Bowen team or visiting legacyinfrastructuregroup.com.
