We partner with Homefield using both design-build and design-assist approaches. On this project, Superior Bowen delivered a turnkey site package, which included utilities, public infrastructure improvements, site lighting and electrical, aggregate for paving, flatwork, curb and gutter, asphalt paving, and landscape and irrigation. To support the project’s athletic applications, we graded and installed a natural turf sports field on the east side of the building.
UNIQUE CHALLENGES
Superior Bowen performed mass grading operations even as the building’s design and permitting were being finalized. The resulting changes required our team to remain flexible and make real-time adjustments, which included reviewing value engineering options during construction.
This site also involved very deep cuts and fills. To overcome 18-foot fill depths and ensure the building pad was structurally sound, Superior Bowen had to monitor and install settlement plates throughout mass grading operations.
